Amy Lynn Carter, who was born on October 19, 1967, is the daughter of Jimmy Carter, the 39th president of the United States, and Rosalynn Carter, his first wife.
Carter rose to fame as a young child while residing in the White House during the Carter administration.

Carter married computer expert James Gregory Wentzel in September 1996; the two had met while Carter was a student at Tulane; Wentzel was the manager of the Chapter Eleven bookshop in Atlanta, where Carter had a part-time job.
The couple relocated to the Atlanta region after she received her degree in art from Memphis College of Art, concentrating on raising their son, Hugo James Wentzel (b. 1999).
Carter has kept a low profile ever since the late 1990s, refusing to give interviews or take part in rallies.
She is a member of the Carter Center’s board of advisors, which was founded by her father and promotes human rights and diplomacy.
