Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Aminata Diallo is in police custody for attacking players from the women’s squad. The club announced on Wednesday, November 10.
PSG states in a press release that Diallo, now 26, is in custody following an arrest in the early hours of Wednesday. Versailles police arrested her in connection with the incident that occurred last Thursday evening, Daily Union reports.
“Paris Saint-Germain condemns in the strongest possible terms the violence committed,” PSG stated. “Since Thursday evening, the club has taken all necessary measures to guarantee the health, well-being, and safety of its entire women’s team.”
PSG – where Messi, Neymar, and Kylian Mbappé play for the men’s team – said it would cooperate closely with Versailles police to provide more information.
“The club is paying close attention to the progress of the proceedings and will study what action to take,” PSG stated.
They didn’t disclose the names of the players involved in the incident. However, numerous French media reports state that Kheira Hamraoui is slain following a night drinking session with Diallo and a third unnamed teammate.
Television broadcaster BFM TV reports that Diallo was driving them back when people wearing mask attacked. Hamraoui had been hit multiple times with a bar made of steel and required stitches to her legs and hands.
Diallo played in the midfield for PSG in the evening of Tuesday during a 4-0 victory at home over Real Madrid in the group stages of the Champions League.
Hamraoui, as well as Diallo, are French teammates on the national team.
Kheira was recalled to PSG during the offseason, having previously joined Barcelona and played in the Champions League semi-final as Barca beat PSG.
Hamraoui played previously for PSG from 2012 to 2016, when Diallo made a move from Guingamp.
