Amin Adam, Addison lead Ghana’s delegation to IMF/World Bank spring meetings in Washington

Ghana’s Minister for Finance, Dr Mohammed Amin Adam, is leading a high-level delegation to the IMF/World Bank Spring Meetings in Washington DC. ‘

The delegation, consisting of officials from the Finance Ministry and the Central Bank, includes Hon Abena Osei Asare, Hon Fatimatu Abubakar, Dr Ernest Addison, Dr Maxwell Opoku-Afari, and Dr Maxwell Opoku-Afari.

During their time in Washington, the delegation will meet with top officials such as IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva and World Bank President Ajay Banga. They will also participate in various meetings, including the G-24 Ministers and Governors Meeting and the 11th Ministerial Meeting of the Coalition of Finance Ministers for Climate Action.

In addition to these meetings, the delegation will attend the “High-Level Event on Addressing Polycrisis: Capital Mobilization for the V20 Climate Prosperity Agenda” and engage in bilateral discussions with other partner countries, financial institutions, and private sector investors.

Recently, Ghana reached a staff-level agreement with the IMF Mission on economic policies and reforms, marking the completion of the second review of the 36-month ECF-supported programme. Once approved by the IMF Management and completed by the IMF Executive Board, Ghana will have access to approximately US$360 million in financing.

The Spring Meetings of the Boards of Governors of the IMF and World Bank Group bring together a wide range of global stakeholders to discuss important issues such as the world economic outlook, poverty eradication, economic development, and aid effectiveness.

The meetings also feature seminars, regional briefings, press conferences, and other events focused on the global economy and international development.
