The whole world watched and observed as the Johnny Depp v Amber Heard trial was ongoing. Social media was set ablaze with different comments both supporting and criticizing both parties, but mostly supporting Johnny Depp.
The verdict saw Depp being awarded a total of $15 million in damages and Heard $2 million. After the verdict, the whole world seemingly moved on with their lives and everyone was happy.
Or so we thought. While everyone was content with the verdict, Heard was not, understandably so. She released a statement afterward saying,
“The disappointment I feel today is beyond words. I’m heartbroken that the mountain of evidence still was not enough to stand up to the disproportionate power, influence, and sway of my ex-husband.”
She is not done with this case. Her lawyers have asked a judge to throw the verdict against her in the defamation case.
They argue that the verdict was not supported by the evidence and that one of the jurors may not have been properly vetted by the court. In addition, they are requesting a new trial.
