Alvin Mentian Kamara, a running back with the National Football League’s New Orleans Saints, was born on July 25, 1995. (NFL). After transferring from Hutchinson Community Collegiate, he played college football at the University of Tennessee before being selected by the Saints in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft. In addition to being a Pro Bowler in each of his five NFL seasons and a two-time second-team All-Pro, he was awarded the NFL Rookie of the Year in 2017. In 2020, Kamara tied Ernie Nevers for the second-most running touchdowns in a single game in NFL history with six.
Kamara was born in Liberia to a Liberian mother. In Norcross, Georgia, he attended Norcross High School. He was a member of the Blue Devils football team in high school.
Kamara described his stay at the University of Alabama as a “tough experience.” He underwent knee surgery during the preseason and redshirted as a true freshman after failing to break into a recruiting class that included three other future NFL running backs in Derrick Henry, T. J. Yeldon, and Kenyan Drake.
