Allegra Elizabeth Jane Stratton was born on April 10 1980 in Nottingham, United Kingdom.
She along with her three other siblings were brought in Chiswick, an area that forms part of London.
She attended the Chiswick Community School but graduated from the Latymer Upper School. She went on to study archeology and anthropology at Cambridge.
Before her stint in government roles, Allegra had a successful career as a journalist at various reputable media firms.
These include the likes of the British Broadcasting Corporation with whom she had two spells, The Guardian and ITV.

Allegra got married to James Forsyth in 2011.
The couple have two children. She was appointed as Downing Street Press Secretary under Boris Johnson in November 2020.
