All about David Soul’s brother Rev. Daniel Solberg who was jailed for criminal trespass
Joe Landefeld, a member of the church, claims that after arresting Solberg, two Hampton Township police officers cut the chain that secured the building’s glass doors. Witnesses stated that Solberg did not resist at all, and he looked to be clutching a Bible.
According to the clerk for the magistrate, he turned down an offer of being released on his own recognizance in exchange for a vow not to return to the church. As a result, he was moved to Allegheny County Jail in Pittsburgh and charged with criminal and defiant trespass.
The police intervention occurred two days after Bishop Kenneth May, the head of the Lutheran Church in America’s Western Pennsylvania-West Virginia Synod, removed Solberg from the ministry for his refusal to resign from his pulpit.
Leading the pro-union Denominational Ministry Strategy, Solberg asserts that “corporate evil,” or joblessness in western Pennsylvania’s heavy industry, is the product of Pittsburgh-based businesses headed by U.S. Steel Corp. and Mellon Bank.
