Alister Jack, a British politician who was born on July 7, 1963, has been the Secretary of State for Scotland since this year. He is a supporter of the Scottish Conservatives and has served as Dumfries and Galloway’s Member of Parliament (MP) since 2017.
Alister Jack is a businessman who developed the self-storage and tent rental industries, with the latter helping him amass a £20 million fortune. He presently owns a 1,200-acre property in Courance, close to Lockerbie. He formerly served as chairman of the Fisheries Management Scotland, River Annan Fishery Board and Trust, and Galloway Woodlands.

Jack was born on July 7, 1963, to David and Jean Jack in Dumfries, Dumfriesshire, Scotland (who was Lord Lieutenant of Dumfries between 2006 and 2016). He was raised in Kippford and Dalbeattie. Unfortunately, not much is known about his parents.
He received his education at Dalbeattie Primary School, Crawfordton House, a private prep school close to Moniaive, Dumfriesshire, and finally Glenalmond College, an independent residential school for males that was then. Heriot-Watt University was his next stop.
