
On June 19, 1998, Alexander Mattison, a running back with the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League, was born. He played college football at Boise State and was chosen by the Vikings in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft, 102nd overall.
While attending San Bernardino High School in San Bernardino, California, Mattison participated in high school football. He carried the ball more than 2,000 yards in each of his final two seasons, accumulating 2,017 yards and 26 touchdowns as a junior and 2,057 yards and 22 touchdowns as a senior in 2015. Mattison was selected to play in the Inland Valley Football Classic following his senior year. Mattison participated in football, track, and wrestling.
As a senior, he won the Mountain Valley League championship in the 110-meter hurdles. He runs the 110-meter hurdles in 14.95 seconds, the 100-meter sprint in 11.34 seconds, the 200-meter dash in 23.34 seconds, the long jump in 22’9″ (6.93 meters), and the shot put in 46’5.5 seconds (14.16 meters). As a junior, he was also named to the league’s all-star team and captured the 195-pound league wrestling title.
