Canadian actor Alex Mallari Jr. has Filipino ancestry.
He is well-known for his roles in the Netflix films The Adam Project and Ginny & Georgia (2021–present) as well as the Syfy television series Dark Matter (2015–2017).
Although Mallari was raised in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada, she was born on February 19, 1988, in the Philippines. With a third-degree black belt in Taekwondo, Mallari participated in national competitions there. He won the junior national Taekwondo title twice in Canada. Nevertheless, he stopped doing that when he was 13 years old. He started playing basketball after that with the idea of going pro, but an injury prevented him from doing so.
Mallari made the decision to pursue acting while he was enrolled at the University of Toronto. As Four in the Syfy television series Dark Matter, which was based on the comic book series of the same name, he made his acting debut. He appeared in the show for three seasons, from 2015 to 2017.
