Alex Leatherwood (born January 5, 1999) is an American football offensive tackle for the Chicago Bears of the National Football League (NFL).
Leatherwood spent his formative years in Pensacola, Florida, where he attended Booker T. Washington High School.
As a junior and a senior, the Pensacola News Journal named him to the first team All-Area. He participated in the All-America Bowl and was selected to Parade’s first team of All-Americans as well as USA Today’s second team.
In his junior year, Leatherwood, who was considered to be a unanimous five-star prospect and one of the top 10 in his class, committed to play college football at the University of Alabama.
Leatherwood played in seven games as a true freshman after enrolling at Alabama a semester early. After starter Jonah Williams suffered an injury in the third quarter, he entered the game at left tackle and received considerable playing time in the 2018 CFP National Championship Game.
