Alex Andersen was born on May 20, 1994, in Copenhagen, Denmark. He is well known for his role as Ivar in the History drama series Vikings.
Andersen discovered his love of performing while attending school in the town of Slagelse in the western part of Zealand, Denmark. He was fortunate to gain a lot of experience with multiple major roles by participating in a variety of musical-focused productions. He, like his peers, began auditioning for film roles.
When Andersen was seventeen, he learned the contrast between live performances and performances in front of a camera. This influenced him to pursue a degree in Film and Media at the University of Copenhagen.
He has appeared in a variety of television and film projects in Denmark. Vikings are his first Hollywood film.
When he is not performing, Andersen devotes most of his time to photography. He continues to learn more about cameras as a visual person as a consequence of his experience shooting and directing short films. He’s also learned to sing, dance, play sports, fence, and do stunts. He supports charities including UNICEF, Care Denmark, and Kraeftensbekmpelse (Fighting Cancer).
