Alan Ladd Jr was an American producer has died on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at the the age of 84.
Amanda Ladd-Jones, the renowned film producer’s daughter, confirmed his death on social media.
She wrote,
“With the heaviest of hearts, we announce that on March 2, 2022, Alan Ladd, Jr. died peacefully at home surrounded by his family”.
Ladd Jr’s films have received more than 50 Academy Awards from more than 150 nominations, as well as several Golden Globes and Palme d’Or awards, according to his Ladd Company profile.
He was known for commissioning George Lucas for Star Wars. He also won the Best Picture Academy Award for Braveheart.
