Albert Lincoln Roker Jr., born August 20, 1954, is an American weather forecaster, journalist, television personality, and author. He is presently the weather anchor on NBC’s Today and occasionally co-hosts 3rd Hour Today.

Roker was born in the New York City borough of Queens, the son of Isabel, a Jamaican, and Albert Lincoln Roker Sr., a Bahamian bus driver. He aspired to be a cartoonist at first.

The weatherman’s health dilemma comes two years after revealing to viewers that he had prostate cancer.

Later after he disappeared on air, he came back to disclose to the public that he has been diagnosed with clots of blood in his leg and lungs

In November 2020, he indicated that, while he is now OK, he will take some time off work to better care for himself. He also stated that he will return in two weeks.
