Akufo-Addo’s injury time reshuffle won’t fix 7 years of his govt’s mess – Minority

President Akufo-Addo’s reshuffle has come under fire from the Minority in Parliament, which calls it a “injury time reshuffle” and that it won’t clear up the seven-year mess his administration has caused.

The Minority claims that this is only a remix of the corrupt administrations of Akufo-Addo and Alhaji Bawumia, calling this injury time remix dull and uninspired.

In a statement released today, February 14, 2024, President Akufo-Addo removed several ministers from their jobs, including Kwaku Agyemang Manu, Dan Botwe, and Ken Ofori-Atta.

However, the Ministry claimed in a statement signed by Minority Leader Dr. Ato Forson that the action is too little, too late the government is leaving office in less than nine months and that it will not end the suffering and hardships that the Ghanaian people are experiencing as a result of the massive, unchecked corruption and poor governance of the Akufo-Addo and Alhaji Bawumia administrations.

“These injured time reserves, who have been sitting on the sidelines without a warm-up for over seven years, are ill-equipped to contribute significantly in the final nine months to save the sinking ship and the enormous disaster that Alhaji Bawumia and his crew of mismanaged finances have produced.

“This government’s term has been marked by excessive borrowing, unmanageable debt, an economic crisis, a voracious appetite for taxes, poor governance, careless and wasteful spending, the diversion of public funds into the personal bank accounts of appointees of the government, and state capture by the president and his vice president’s relatives and friends.”
