President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has reiterated his confidence in Ghana’s energy future, highlighting the importance of collaboration and collective efforts to achieve sustainable development goals.

During a ceremony in Kaleo on Wednesday, 24th April 2024, the President officially inaugurated phase two of the Kaleo Solar Power Plant.

With a capacity of fifteen megawatts peak (15MWp), this new addition reflects Ghana’s dedication to utilizing clean energy sources and building a sustainable legacy for future generations.

President Akufo-Addo emphasized the need for effective maintenance practices to ensure the longevity and efficiency of renewable energy infrastructure.

Speaking to a gathering of dignitaries, chiefs, and community members, the President emphasized the significance of investing in renewable energy infrastructure.

He highlighted the plant’s potential to not only power homes and businesses but also act as a catalyst for development in the Upper West Region, attracting investment and fostering innovation.

The government is actively implementing policies and measures to encourage green investments, promote energy efficiency, and prioritize the development of solar, wind, and hydroelectric power projects.

President Akufo-Addo’s vision is for Ghana to not only achieve energy self-sufficiency but also lead the way in becoming an eco-friendly country within the region.

By setting the stage for a greener, more energy-technology-centered future, Ghana aims to inspire neighboring countries to follow suit.

The President’s commitment to building a brighter, greener future for all Ghanaians is evident in the government’s dedication to sustainable energy practices and initiatives.
