President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has embarked on a trip to Seoul, Korea, after being invited by the President of the Republic of Korea, Yoon Suk Yeol.
The purpose of the trip is for President Akufo-Addo to lead the Ghanaian delegation at this year’s Korea-Africa Summit, which is scheduled to take place from 4th to 5th June, 2024 in Seoul.
Accompanying the President on this trip are the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchway, as well as officials from the Foreign Ministry, Trade Ministry, and the Presidency. President Akufo-Addo is expected to return to Ghana on Thursday, 6th June, 2024. In his absence, Vice President Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia will act as the President in accordance with Article 60(8) of the constitution.
