Shoichiro Toyoda and Hiroko Mitsui are the parents of Akio Toyoda – the chairman of Toyota Motor Corporation.
They are the parents of two children – Akio and his sister Atsuko. The two are no more together following the death of Shoichiro. They were happily married from 1952 until his death in February 2023.
It is unclear how and when they tied that knot but they were happily married until they parted ways in February 2023. They were both not previously married before meeting.
Shoichiro died of sudden heart failure on February 14, 2023, at age 97. He was survived by his wife, daughter, Atsuko and son Akio Toyoda. He was a Japanese business executive who remained honorary chairman of Toyota from 1999 until his death.
Hiroko on the other hand is a successful businesswoman. She oversaw Toyota Home Co. Ltd. as president and CEO. Additionally, she was Toyota Motor Corporation’s first female director. She has remained single after the death of her beloved husband.
