In light of the recent spike in air pollution in the nation, the Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) is recommending that Ghanaians think about donning nose masks.
Ghana’s airspace is contaminated, according to GMet, and residents are advised to wear protective nose gear to be safe. The Air Quality Index has declared Ghana to be the most polluted nation.
Felicity Ahianyo, the head of the Ghana Meteorological Agency’s Central Analysis and Forecasting Unit, recommended wearing nose masks to protect against diseases brought on by the recent dusty environment.
“Dust is so visible to us that it can even be seen settling on cars, buildings, and other objects. Because it comes from the bare floor, it is bound to contain some pathogens, parasites, or disease-causing agents that could be harmful to our health.”
