Ahwenease, a hamlet in the Eastern Region’s Abuakwa South Municipality, has launched an initiative to guarantee the area’s development.
At the Ahwenease Development Association’s (ADA) recent one-year anniversary celebration held in the neighborhood, a decision was reached.
A contemporary Information and Communications Technology (ICT) center, complete with computers and furniture, will be provided, as one of the projects to be conducted is the renovation of the community’s kindergarten (KG) and primary one through six buildings.
In addition, sixty mono desks for students, teacher furniture, footballs, jerseys, and television sets for the elementary and kindergarten schools in the neighborhood have already been given.
The group has also sealed the two schools’ forecourts and installed street lights for the whole neighborhood.
According to Charity Anima Offei, the ADA’s founder and CEO, who made this information public to the Daily Graphic, the goal of renovating school buildings and offering social facilities like these is to enhance education and empower students to change their communities.
She claimed that doing so would help the students’ academic performance.
According to Ms. Offei, the association’s provision of these amenities will significantly raise the community’s residents’ level of living. That would lead to the projects’ execution being successful, she said.
