The Twereko Ampem Senior High School in Ntotroso has been formally commissioned by Barima Twereko Ampem (III), the Paramount Chief of the Ntotroso Traditional Council in the Ahafo Region.
The purpose of the school’s establishment is to give the local population access to high-quality education.
Dignitaries such as the Ahafo Minister, the Asutifi North District Chief Executive, chiefs, educators, security forces, clergy, politicians, parents, and students attended the commissioning ceremony.
Barima Twereko Ampem III, who spoke at the ceremony, urged district and regional officials to support initiatives and funding aimed at raising academic standards in the school.
The chief underlined the need for further government funding in order to further enhance teaching and learning, while also highlighting the continuous efforts of local chiefs to supply the school with infrastructure.
He also urged on the Asutifi District Police Commander to take proactive steps to address possible incursions and voiced worries about security, pointing out that the school’s grounds are not fenced off.
George Boakye, the Ahafo Regional Minister, praised Barima Twereko Ampem (III) for having the vision to start the school for the community’s growth in his speech.
He mentioned the chief’s crucial contribution to the founding of the Nursing College, which received some funding from Newmont.
The young people in the community were exhorted by Mr. Boakye to use the school to enhance their studies.
