Afua Assantewaa, a media personality and entrepreneur, stated that she was unable to swiftly notify the public of her disqualification because she had lost access to her Guinness World Records (GWR) logins.
Kwame Dadzie, an entertainment journalist, has sharply disputed her claims, calling them untrue and threatening to reveal her if she presses him on the matter.
Kwame Dadzie declared, “She is lying, I swear to you. She didn’t lose her login information. The interview she gave is untrue. I have proof, and if she wants it, I will expose her.”
The Guinness World Records said on Friday, February 23, 2024, that Afua Asantewaa of Ghana was unable to surpass her own record for the longest singing marathon, which she had attempted in December 2023.
In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), the GWR stated as much, adding that they hope she tries again despite the setback.
We’ve observed how motivating it has been for her followers.We hope Afua has the best of luck going forward when attempting other records,” they said.
They also said that Afua Asantewaa’s team received a reimbursement for the money they spent on a priority review.
In December 2023, Afua Asantewaa accepted the challenge to break the current record, which was set in 2012 and stands at 105 hours.
A five-day singing marathon that started at midnight on Sunday, December 24, 2023, and finished at 7:00 am on December 29, 2023 was endured by Asantewaa.
By Friday morning, when her effort at breaking the record was over, the young singer had sang for five days, six hours, and fifty-five minutes.
