The Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) is inviting filmmakers from across the continent to submit their films for the 20th anniversary celebration of the prestigious event.
Founded by Peace Anyiam Osigwe, the AMAA is dedicated to recognizing and promoting African storytelling through cinema. Osigwe’s vision has paved the way for the growth of Nollywood and the African film industry as a whole.
As the AMAA marks two decades of honoring excellence in film, the contributions of Peace Anyiam Osigwe will be remembered and celebrated. Her efforts have created a platform that connects industry veterans and newcomers, fostering collaboration and innovation.
The deadline for submissions has been extended to August 10th, allowing filmmakers to submit feature films, short films, documentaries, and more produced between January 2023 and July 2024. The waiver code for submissions is AMAA2024code.
This year’s AMAA ceremony promises to shine a spotlight on the extraordinary talents that shape the African film industry, showcasing the creativity, innovation, and hard work of filmmakers across the globe.
