AFCON Qualifiers: Black Stars begin training in Accra

Before to Thursday’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Angola, the Black Stars of Ghana completed their first practice in Accra.

17 players reported on Monday, and the remaining players are anticipated to join the team today before departing for Kumasi to compete in the Baba Yara Sports stadium match.

After a hectic weekend with their clubs, the players were put through rigorous drills by new coach Chris Hughton in order to keep their focus.

The athletes who reported on Monday included Mohammed Salisu, Majeed Ashimeru, Edmund Addo, Abdul Manaf Nurudeen, Joseph Wollacott, Alexander Djiku, Denis Odoi, Kingsley Schindler, Patrick Kpozo, Daniel Amartey, Joseph Aidoo, Andre Ayew, Joseph Painstil, Ransford Yeboah, and Inaki Williams.

In order to earn early qualification to the Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast next year, the Black Stars will be trying to win all three points against the Palancas Negras.
