Ghanaian forward Antoine Semenyo reached a milestone in his career as he celebrated his 50th appearance for AFC Bournemouth in a recent EFL Cup match against West Ham United.

Despite the team’s defeat, Bournemouth recognized Semenyo’s achievement on their official social media, congratulating him on the accomplishment.

Semenyo, who joined AFC Bournemouth from Bristol City in January 2023, entered the game in the 68th minute as a substitute for Luis Sinisterra. On the other side, Ghanaian midfielder Mohammed Kudus had a significant impact on the match, providing an assist for West Ham’s only goal as they secured a 1-0 victory. It was Kudus’ first attacking contribution of the season after coming on in the 74th minute to replace Niclas Füllkrug.

Before the game, West Ham had six wins against Bournemouth’s five, with five draws between them. Despite Bournemouth’s dominance in possession, West Ham managed to have more shots on goal. Bournemouth paid the price for their lack of finishing when Jarrod Bowen scored from Kudus’ 88th-minute strike, with no VAR intervention to offer any relief.

Both teams will now shift their focus back to Premier League action, with West Ham set to host Manchester City, the reigning champions, and Bournemouth traveling to Goodison Park to take on Everton in their next matches.
