As of September 1, Adam Fogelson will transition from his position as Chairman of the STX Entertainment Motion Picture Group, which he has held for the past eight years, to that of Vice Chair of the Lionsgate Motion Picture Group.
Fogelson will be part of the leadership team for the Motion Picture Group and oversee global marketing and theatrical distribution in his new position at Lionsgate.
He will also be involved in all facets of planning and carrying out the content strategy for the company.
He will answer directly to Joe Drake, Chairman of the Lionsgate Motion Picture Group.
At STX, Fogelson created a noteworthy feature film lineup of mid-budget movies that appealed to a variety of demographics.
They include, among others, The Upside ($125M WW), The Gentlemen ($115M WW), the $314M-grossing Bad Moms franchise, Hustlers ($105M, $158M worldwide), Jennifer Lopez’s highest-grossing domestic film, Hustlers.
Like many other studios, STX changed course during the epidemic, moving some of its films to streaming services and making money as a result.
