Criminal charges have been filed against actress Q’orianka Kilcher for allegedly receiving disability payments when she was able to work.
The popular TV show “Yellowstone” star, 32, was accused of fraudulently collecting roughly $97,000 in disability benefits, according to officials, who made the announcement on Monday.
According to a statement from the California Department of Insurance, Kilcher is accused of committing two felonies related to workers’ compensation insurance fraud.
In October 2018, while working on “Dora and the Lost City of Gold,” Kilcher allegedly suffered neck and right shoulder injuries, according to a statement from the insurance agency.
She was a passenger in a production vehicle when the injury occurred, according to her attorney, Michael Becker.
She informed the doctor handling the insurance claim a year later that she had been offered job but was unable to accept it due to excruciating neck discomfort brought on by her accident.
Kilcher received a cool $96,838 in her bank account as temporary disability compensation between 2019 and 2021.
She worked on “Yellowstone” in 2019 during the same few months she claimed to be handicapped, according to an investigation that followed.
