Neapolitan actor capable of spanning theater to cinema, and a well-known face of many TV dramas and the soap ‘Un posto al sole’ on Rai 3, where from 2017 to 2019 he played Peppino Canfora Gigio Morra has passed away.
Gigio Morra died at the age of 78 on Sunday, March 10, 2024, in Naples.
Gigio Morra was born on August 26, 1945, in Naples, Italy. He graduated in 1966 from the Academy of Dramatic Arts in Naples. He worked with Eduardo De Filippo from 1970 to 1980, with Carlo Cecchi as part of the Granteatro and until 1989 she acted in Angelo Savelli’s company.
Gigio Morra was the winner of the IDI award in 1982. In 2011 he returned to television in the role of Ruggero u ‘Puparo in the third season of the series Squadra antimafia – Palermo Oggi. Starting from 2017 he played the character of Peppino Canfora in the Rai 3 soap opera Un posto al sole.
The funeral will take place on Tuesday, March 12, at noon, in the church of Santa Caterina a Chiaia. It was his wife Lucia Mandarini who is also an actress, announced the news of his passing this morning on Facebook: ‘My love has left me.
