Amaechi Muonagor, a Nigerian actor, passed away. At the age of 62, he passed away on Sunday.

On Sunday night, his coworker Kingsley Orji revealed the information on social media.  He apparently passed away on March 24, 2024, from renal failure.

When Kingsley posted a video of the late actor on Instagram earlier this month, he brought attention to Amaechi’s situation by stating that the sickness had damaged the actor’s ability to speak.

The late actor requested financial support from Nigerians and philanthropists for a kidney transplant in India, according to a March 19 PREMIUM TIMES article.

He had a stroke in November 2023 and went online to ask for financial support from his fans and Nigerians.

He was diagnosed with kidney illness, diabetes, and stroke in December of 2023. The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) requested financial support for the actor, according to an article published in this newspaper that same month.

Emeka Rollas, the National President of AGN, announced on his Instagram page that he had received some funds from the guild’s trust fund, which AGN approved.

Originating from Obosi in Anambra State, he gained recognition for his performances in films such as Taboo (1), Aki and Pawpaw, Karishika, Aki na Ukwa, Igodo, and more.

For the 2017 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards, he received a nomination for Best Actor.
