Accra Lions’ head coach Ibrahim Tanko has heaped praise on his players following their remarkable 1-0 victory over Hearts of Oak at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The capital-based club secured their first-ever win against the Ghanaian giants in a Week 28 clash of the Ghana Premier League.
In an interview with StarTimes after the match, Tanko lauded his players for their outstanding performance that earned them all three points. “The boys did well from the first half. Before the game, I said there is always a first time and the way we are playing this season, definitely, we can beat any team. So I congratulate the boys,” Tanko expressed.
Reflecting on the challenges of the Premier League, the coach acknowledged the determination and effort shown by his team this season. “The Premier League is not easy, but I think this year, the boys are doing well and I commend them,” Tanko added.
Following their victory over Hearts of Oak, Accra Lions have now climbed to third place on the Ghana Premier League table. The win not only marks a significant milestone for the club but also showcases the potential and talent within the team.
