The Ghana Incentive-Based Risk-Sharing System for Agricultural Lending (GIRSAL) has acknowledged Absa Bank Ghana for its outstanding contributions to the agricultural industry.
The GIRSAL Partner Financial Institution Excellence Awards 2023 featured four categories in which Absa Bank excelled: Best Overall Partner Financial Institution of the Year 2023; Highest Total Amount of GIRSAL Guaranteed Agricultural Credit; Best Quality Agricultural Credit Guarantee Applications; and Highest Total Number of GIRSAL Guaranteed Agricultural Credit.
As per the bank’s press release that was forwarded to the Daily Graphic, Absa’s dedication to bolstering and expanding the agricultural industry by providing loans and enhancing the capabilities of agribusinesses across the entire value chain was acknowledged with these awards.
“These include processors, aggregators, input dealers, and smallholder farmers working as out-growers for agribusiness.”
According to the statement, the institutions’ performance about the quantity and value of agricultural loans they made, the caliber of their loan applications, and their involvement with GIRSAL’s advisory and technical assistance services was thoroughly evaluated to determine the recipients of the awards.
