Ghanaian winger Abdul Fatawu may have impressed with a hat-trick in Leicester City’s 5-0 win over Southampton, but manager Enzo Maresca believes there is still room for improvement for the young player.

Despite Fatawu’s stellar performance in Tuesday night’s match, Maresca remains critical, emphasizing that the winger still has much to learn. The victory not only solidified Leicester’s position at the top of the Championship, but also put them in a strong position for promotion to the Premier League.

With just one win needed from their remaining two games to secure promotion, Leicester could potentially ascend even if Leeds United stumble against QPR on Friday. However, Maresca is focused on the development of his young players, including Fatawu.

In an interview with BBC Radio Leicester, Maresca discussed the challenges of managing young talent. “He’s young, he needs to learn many things,” the manager explained. “The problem with young players is they are up and down.”

Maresca jokingly mentioned that Fatawu may find himself on the bench in the next two games to prevent him from shooting from everywhere, simply because he scored a hat-trick. The Ghanaian winger’s impressive performance in the match included setting up Leicester’s opening goal and scoring a curling shot from the edge of the area, showcasing his growing talent on the field.
