Aaron Charles Donald, a defensive tackle with the Los Angeles Rams of the National Football League, was born on May 23, 1991. He garnered unanimous All-American accolades while playing college football at Pittsburgh, and the Rams selected him in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft.
One of the best defensive players ever, he has earned a record of three Defensive Player of the Year Awards, eight Pro Bowl selections, and seven first-team All-Pro honors. Donald was a part of the squad that prevailed in Super Bowl LVI.
The Rams’ player with the longest stay is currently Rob Havenstein, one of just two players who played for the team in St. Louis before it relocated to Los Angeles in 2016.
Donald, a native of Pittsburgh, was raised in a working-class household as one of three kids in the Lincoln-Lemington-Belmar district of the city. In an effort to give his son’s life more structure, his father introduced him to exercise. Later, Donald would acknowledge that he was “lazy as a kid.” By the age of twelve, he and his father got up at 4:30 am to work out in the family’s basement gym for about two hours.
