William Laurence Bingham, MBE was a Northern Ireland international footballer and football manager.
As a player, his first professional club was Glentoran, whom he played for between 1948 and 1950.
Making the move to England, he then spent eight years with Sunderland, making 227 appearances.

Between 1951 and 1963, he won 56 trophies for Northern Ireland. He also played at the 1958 FIFA World Cup.
After retiring, he worked as a manager. During his management career, he worked with Southport (1965-1968), Northern Ireland (1976-1971), Plymouth Argyle (1968-1970), Linfield (1970-1971), Greece (1971-1973), Everton (973-1977), PAOK (1977), Mansfield Town (1978-1979), In 1980, he returned to Northern Ireland.
He worked with them for 13 years.
He passed away in Birkdale, Southport, England on Thursday 9th of June 2022.
