Rachel Anne Maddow is an American television news program host and liberal political commentator born on April 1, 1973 (age 49 years), in Castro Valley, California, United States.
She was born to her mother Elaine Maddow, and her father Bob Maddow. She is from a family of two siblings and she happens to be the only female child in her family.
Maddow hosts The Rachel Maddow Show, a nightly television show on MSNBC, and serves as the cable network’s special event co-anchor alongside Brian Williams.

Maddow has dealt with cyclical depression since puberty. In a 2012 interview, she stated, that her depression didn’t take away her joy or her work, or her energy, but coping with depression is something that is part of the everyday way that she lives and has lived for as long as she can remember.
Having said that, in 2021 she revealed she had to undergo surgery to remove skin cancer on her neck.
