Popular American drummer Taylor Hawkins has been confirmed dead. He died at the age of 50. He is survived by his wife, Alison, and three children.

Confirming his death, Foo Fighters, the band he belonged to, took to Twitter to say they are devasted by his tragic death.

The statement they released said: “The Foo Fighters family is devastated by the tragic and untimely loss of our beloved Taylor Hawkins. His musical spirit and infectious laughter will live on with all of us forever.”

It adds: “Our hearts go out to his wife, children and family, and we ask that their privacy be treated with the utmost respect in this unimaginably difficult time.”

Hawkins was reportedly found dead in his hotel room in Bogota, Colombia.

The name of the hotel and the exact location where the incident occurred is yet to be released by local authorities.

His hotel room photos (unlike Bob Saget whose hotel room photos were released early) are yet to be released.

Taylor Hawkins cause of death is drug-related?

The cause of Taylor Hawkins has not been disclosed yet even though he had a background of drug-related issues in the past.

Hawkins reportedly overdosed on heroin in 2011 and landed in a weeks-long coma, just four years after joining the Foo Fighters.
