Jeffrey Lane Fortenberry is an American politician and economist currently serving as the U.S. representative for Nebraska’s 1st congressional district. He has held that office since 2005.
He was convicted on charges that he lied to federal authorities about an illegal $30,000 contribution to his campaign from a foreign billionaire. The incident is purported to have occurred at a 2016 Los Angeles fundraiser.
Born December 27, 1960, Fortenberry has an impressive educational background. Firstly, graduated from Catholic High in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
He also holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Louisiana State University, a master’s degree in public policy from Georgetown University, and a master’s degree in theology from Franciscan University of Steubenville
