We are here to answer that question.

Why did Madeleine Albright change her name?

As Marie Jean Korbe became a citizen of the United States, she changed her name to Madeleine in 1957.

She obtained a Bachelor of Arts in political science with honors and continued her rise in the American ladder to get make history.

Her grandmother gave her the moniker Madeleine when she was child.

The name meant something to her hence it was not legally changed to suit her political ambitions.
