Ashleigh Katherine Gardner is an Australian international cricketer who plays as an all-rounder.

She is a regular for Australia and plays for New South Wales Breakers in the Women’s National Cricket League and Sydney Sixers in the Women’s Big Bash League

She was quite disconnected to her family having been brought up in a foster care home. Gardner, on the other hand, is undeniably proud of her background.

She has her tribal name tattooed on her arm to remind her of her culture.  Asian-fusion food are her to-go meals.

She captained Australia’s Indigenous team in India when then was 18 years old. She led the same squad on a historic tour of England two years later.

Gardner and her Australia teammates won the T20 World Cup in front of 86,174 people at Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Due to coronavirus, she took up aboriginal painting as a new interest. The lockdown, however blocked plans of her visiting her tribe’s homelands.
