Ghanaian songstress Mzbel has raised concerns about the growing trend of cyberbullying and misuse of social media platforms.

In a recent interview on Accra FM, Mzbel opened up about her own experiences with cyberbullying and revealed that she has taken legal action against bloggers and journalists in the past. She noted that while these cases were not made public, the individuals involved have since apologized and learned from their mistakes.

Mzbel expressed her frustration with the negative use of social media, emphasizing that it is often used for character assassination and spreading false information. She lamented, “I feel like a lot of people are taking advantage of social media to do wrong things. We are abusing social media. Irrespective of the calibre of people, netizens will find a way to disrespect someone… Socia media has become like a weapon.”

The singer also criticized internet publications for publishing unconfirmed stories in order to generate clicks. She called for greater accountability and responsible behavior online, urging the government to introduce stronger legislation against cyberbullying.

Mzbel’s comments come at a time when cyberbullying is a growing concern, with many individuals, especially public figures, facing online harassment and abuse.
