Patric Pfeiffer, the 24-year-old center-back from Augsburg, has officially committed to representing Ghana on the international stage.
Two years after the initial announcement by the Ghana Football Association, Pfeiffer has completed all necessary procedures to switch his national allegiance from Germany to Ghana.
Speaking from Augsburg’s pre-season camp in Mpumalanga, South Africa, Pfeiffer expressed his excitement about the upcoming opportunity to join the Black Stars squad. “A few weeks ago I was in Ghana and now I have my passport,” Pfeiffer stated. “I hope in September I can get a call-up. I know the coach, Otto Addo because he was the coach of Hamburg in the youth team [where I played]. I have good contacts with him. I wanted to join the Black Stars before but I didn’t have my passport, but now it’s done and I’m ready.”
Despite being born and raised in Germany, Pfeiffer emphasized his strong connection to his Ghanaian roots. “Yes, of course, because this is my motherland, I love Ghana, I love the people, I love the vibe, I love the food,” Pfeiffer affirmed.
Last season, Pfeiffer faced some injury setbacks but still managed to make eleven Bundesliga appearances. Now, fully recovered and eager to represent Ghana, Pfeiffer is looking forward to the next chapter of his football career with the Black Stars.
With his talent and determination, Pfeiffer is sure to make a valuable addition to the national team and contribute to their success on the field.
