Legendary Highlife musician KK Fosu has made headlines after issuing an apology for his controversial comments regarding his absence at a funeral. The funeral was for John Claude, who tragically passed away in an accident on the Accra-Apam Highway.

During an interview with Accra based Hitz FM, KK Fosu justified his absence by stating that he did not know John Claude and that attending the funeral was not compulsory, especially as he was still recovering from injuries sustained in the same accident. This statement sparked criticism from many who felt that he should have shown more empathy and support to the bereaved family.

However, in a statement released shortly after the interview, KK Fosu expressed regret for his outburst and apologized to the family for any distress his words may have caused. He explained that his emotional response was fueled by a sense that people were not considering his health condition when criticizing his absence.

KK Fosu also addressed the family’s disappointment with him, as they believed that their son was traveling with the musician at the time of the accident. He clarified that he had only just met John Claude when they sat in the car together.

Despite the controversy, KK Fosu extended his condolences to the bereaved family and called on the Ghana Police to expedite investigations into the unfortunate incident. He also expressed his willingness to personally reach out to the family to offer his support and condolences.
