Big Brother has been captivating reality TV viewers for over 20 years, with each season bringing a new gimmick and theme to the table. But have you ever wondered where all the drama unfolds in the Big Brother USA house?
Contrary to popular belief, the Big Brother USA house is not actually a house at all – it’s a TV studio. Specifically, Sound Stage 18 in the CBS Studios Center, also known as the Radford Studio Center in Studio City, Los Angeles. This studio has been the filming location for several other hit shows, including Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The Talk, Will & Grace, and That 70’s Show.
Every year, Sound Stage 18 is transformed to fit the theme of the current season of Big Brother USA. Past seasons have seen themes such as artificial intelligence, a “BB multiverse,” and even a festival-themed format. Contestants are put through challenges related to the theme, keeping viewers on the edge of their seats.
Created by John de Mol Jr., Big Brother USA follows a group of contestants who are isolated from the outside world and constantly recorded as they compete for a $750,000 cash prize. It’s a social experiment that aims to showcase real human interactions and personal growth through adversity.
If you’re a fan of the show or looking to catch up on past seasons, Big Brother USA is available for streaming on Hulu, Paramount+, and Netflix. Hosted by Julie Chen Moonves, the show’s 26th season kicks off with a two-night premiere on July 17 and July 18, 2024, at 9 pm EST.
