Andre Ayew, the captain of the Black Stars, recently emphasized that his commitment to playing for the national team stems from a deep sense of patriotism rather than financial motives.

During a sports psychology lecture at the University of Ghana, Andre spoke about the significance of representing Ghana on the international stage.

He expressed, “The national team is incredibly important to me and my family. Our lives revolve around the game and our country. When we put on that jersey, it’s all about making sacrifices.”

Despite not currently being signed to a club after his time at Le Havre, the 34-year-old footballer made it clear that wearing Ghana’s colours is a matter of pride and honour for him.

“I don’t play for the national team for money, it’s about representing my country with pride and honour,” Ayew stated.

Despite being absent from recent World Cup qualifier matches, his dedication to the Black Stars remains strong. Andre Ayew’s unwavering commitment to playing for Ghana showcases his true passion for the team and the country as a whole.
