Texas-based power couple Chip and Joanna Gaines have captured the hearts of viewers around the world as the co-hosts of HGTV’s hit show Fixer Upper. The dynamic duo, known for their expertise in real estate, construction, and design, have taken on some of the most rundown houses and transformed them into stunning homes.
The couple’s journey began when they met at Baylor University and tied the knot shortly after. Together, they founded Magnolia in 2003, a company that has since grown to include brands like Magnolia Market, Silos Baking Co., and Magnolia Realty.
One of their most impressive renovation projects to date is the historic Cottonland Castle in Waco, Texas. Built in 1913, the castle had fallen into disrepair before the Gaines family purchased it in 2018. With 4,300 square feet of living space, four bedrooms, and a pool, the castle truly looks like something out of a fairytale.
The Gaines family poured their hearts and souls into restoring the castle to its former glory. After a year-long renovation process, the castle was listed for auction at a price of $2.9 million. However, the couple ultimately decided not to sell, choosing instead to keep the castle for themselves.
For now, Cottonland Castle remains open to the public for guided walking tours as a house museum, with the hope that one day it will find its perfect new owners in Waco’s Castle Heights neighborhood. Chip and Joanna Gaines continue to inspire audiences with their passion for restoring homes and creating beautiful spaces for families to enjoy.
