Family Mourns Tragic Loss of Dr. Teresa Sievers

A family in Bonita Springs, Florida faced a devastating tragedy when Dr. Teresa Sievers, a beloved mother and doctor specializing in holistic medicine, was found dead in her home after returning early from a vacation. The 46-year-old Teresa, originally from Derby, Connecticut, was a respected practitioner at the Estero Medical Center and Naples Community Hospital, as well as the founder of the Restorative Health and Healing Center.

Teresa, who earned her degrees from Ross University School of Medicine and the University of Florida, was discovered beaten to death with a hammer on June 29, 2015. Her husband, Mark Sievers, became worried when Teresa failed to show up for work, prompting him to contact a friend to check on her. The investigation led to the arrest of Curtis Wayne Wright Jr. and Jimmy Ray Rodgers, who conspired with Mark to carry out Teresa’s murder.

After a lengthy legal process, Wright pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and received a 25-year prison sentence. Mark Sievers was found guilty of first-degree murder and sentenced to death. Rodgers was convicted of second-degree murder and trespassing, receiving a life sentence in prison. The case is the focus of Dateline NBC’s episode, The Road Trip, airing on May 24, 2024.

The tragic loss of Dr. Teresa Sievers serves as a reminder of the impact of senseless violence on families and communities. Her legacy in holistic medicine and healing will continue to be remembered and honored by those who knew and loved her.
