FOX Sports’ broadcast team for the season underwent major changes this year, with the network introducing a new lineup back in May following the departure of Joe Buck and Troy Aikman to ESPN. One of the key additions to the squad is Kevin Burkhardt, an American sportscaster known for his play-by-play announcing on Fox Sports.

Originally hailing from New Jersey, Burkhardt pursued his passion for broadcast journalism at William Paterson University. He kickstarted his career by covering high school sports for WGHT, a local radio station in New Jersey. Despite initially working at a car dealership, Burkhardt managed to secure part-time shifts at WCBS-AM in New York in 2003.

Burkhardt eventually landed a significant role at WFAN, where he covered the New York Jets. Over the years, he expanded his repertoire to include reporting on the New York Mets, one of the city’s baseball teams. Burkhardt hosted and appeared on various shows for SportsNet New York, showcasing his versatility in sports broadcasting.

In 2011, Burkhardt took on the role of play-by-play announcer for the Dallas Cowboys, marking his debut in NFL coverage. He later joined Fox Sports in 2013, where he continued to cover both NFL and MLB games. Fast forward to 2022, Burkhardt stepped in to replace Joe Buck as the primary NFL playcaller for Fox Sports, solidifying his place within the network.

Joining Burkhardt in the revamped Fox Sports NFL broadcasting team is former NFL tight end and Pro Bowler, Greg Olsen. The duo took over the positions previously held by industry icons Troy Aikman and Joe Buck, with Olsen coming onboard as a game analyst in 2021. Known for their chemistry and professionalism, Burkhardt and Olsen are set to announce Super Bowl LVII in 2023, further cementing their status as top-tier broadcasters in the sports industry.
