Dreams FC head coach, Abdul Karim Zito, has made it clear that his team will be fighting tooth and nail to secure their Ghana Premier League status.
After a grueling season that saw them compete in three competitions, Zito believes his players are in need of a well-deserved break.
Following Dreams FC’s exit from the MTN FA Cup in the semifinals at the hands of Bofoakwa Tano, Zito expressed his disappointment at the missed opportunity to defend their title. This defeat came on the heels of their 3-0 aggregate loss to Egyptian side SC Zamalek in the CAF Confederation Cup, ending their debut run in the competition.
Now, with their focus shifting to the domestic league, Zito stressed the importance of ensuring the team’s sustainability before allowing them a break. He acknowledged the exhaustion his players are feeling after a demanding season and emphasized the need to avoid burnout.
“My boys have given their all this year. They need a break to recharge and come back stronger. We will do everything we can to secure our place in the league and then give them the rest they deserve, otherwise, we risk burning out,” Zito said.
Dreams FC will be looking to finish the season strong and avoid relegation as they look forward to regrouping and preparing for the challenges that lie ahead.
