Famous American author, editor, and publisher, Jason Epstein has joined his ancestors. He passed away on Friday, February 4, 2022, at the age of 93.
According to his wife Judith Miller, Epstein died while “surrounded by his books” at his home in Sag Harbor, New York.
Epstein was a renowned publishing innovator who helped put the classics in paperback, co-founded The New York Review of Books and worked with such novelists as E.L. Doctorow, Vladimir Nabokov and Philip Roth.

He had two children with his first wife, Barbara Epstein. They are Helen Epstein, a contributor to The New York Review of Books; and Jacob Epstein, a television writer whose time in the book world was brief and unfortunate.
The couple divorced in 1990 and in 1993 Epstein married Judith Miller, the author and former New York Times journalist Judith Miller. Epstein and Judith didn’t have children together.
