Romelu Lukaku is a Belgian footballer who now plays for both the Belgian national team and Premier League club Chelsea.

Romelu grew up in Antwerp, Belgium, and began playing football at a young age.

Lierse discovered him and enrolled him into their academy. In 68 games for Lierse, he scored 121 goals, earning him a deal with Belgian giants Anderlecht.

He immediately rose to the top of the Belgian Championship scoring charts. He then joined Chelsea in 2011. In 2012, he was loaned to West Bromwich Albion. In 2014, he signed a three-year contract with Everton.

He joined with United in 2017. He also played for Inter Milan, where he was a Scudetto winner.

Romelu is a highly aggressive player who is known for utilising his body to go through opponents.

He is not married, but does have a two-year-old kid named Romeo.

Who are Lukaku’s parents?

His father is Roger Menama Lukaku. He was born 6 June 1967. He was a former Congolese footballer who mostly played as a striker for KV Oostende, KV Mechelen, and Germinal Ekeren during his career.

After KV Oostende’s relegation in 1999, the 32-year-old retired from professional football. He continued to play in lesser leagues with Aat, KFC Wintam, and in 2006, KGR Katelijne, where he completed his career.

 

Who are Lukaku’s grandparents?

Grandparents of Lukaku were inspirational. Lukuka promised them a trophy and delivered.

During Inter’s trophy presentation in 2021, an emotional Lukaku donned a t-shirt with a photo of his grandparents as he celebrated the second big achievement of his career. He last won  a the Belgian title with Anderlecht.
